Advocacy
The NAN Project works to promote mental health awareness and suicide prevention among young people throughout Massachusetts. Our programming uses a peer-to-peer model to foster open conversations in schools, reduce stigma, and connect students with support, while our advocacy focuses primarily on securing the funding needed to make this work possible and sustainable across the state.

Alongside our programming, we engage in advocacy efforts that emphasize the importance of continued and increased state investment in youth mental health initiatives. Our primary focus is making sure lawmakers understand the urgent need for funding to keep our life-saving work accessible and free for schools and communities, as well as support policies that align with our mission.
We meet directly with Massachusetts State Representatives and Senators to share our impact and request critical funding through the state budget process. These conversations help ensure that youth mental health remains a top priority and that The NAN Project can continue to expand our reach and support students across the Commonwealth.
