May is Mental Health Awareness Month

Participate in our self-care challenge!

Since 1949, Mental Health Awareness Month has been recognized in the United States each May. The NAN Project works to promote mental health awareness and suicide prevention programs every day–this May we’re asking people to participate in our self-care challenge to further raise public awareness about the importance of caring for mental health this month.

Instructions:

  • Print or save this calendar and check off each day you complete a self-care activity (see below for inspiration).

  • At the end of May, send a photo of your checked-off calendar, along with a 1-2 sentence reflection to:

[email protected]

  • The first 10 people to send a calendar with at least 20 days checked off, and a 1-2 sentence reflection on the month-long challenge, will receive a teddy bear wearing The NAN Project shirt!

Possible examples of self-care activities:

Exercise, call an old friend, spend time with family, meditate, ask for help, do something creative, spend time in nature, make a to-do list, reframe negative thoughts, get enough sleep, do something nice for someone else, practice gratitude, journal…but you know how to care for yourself best!
