Presentations to Stacy Middle School in Milford and The Bromfield School in Harvard

This week we presented to 350 students at Stacy Middle School in Milford and The Bromfield School in Harvard. This is our first time working with Stacy, and we are glad to be expanding our programming into more middle schools. We presented shorter and age appropriate comeback stories, and had a more interactive discussion since younger students tend to have many questions.

Gardner High School Health Fair

Today, we joined the Gardner High School Health Fair, and debuted a new tabling game where participants answer questions related to mental health, which was lots of fun!

Presenting at the American Association of Suicidology in Portland, Oregon

Today we had the pleasure of presenting at the American Association of Suicidology for the second year, this time in Portland, Oregon! Our team presented our program model and our efforts to make it more accessible for ELL students that speak 7 of the most spoken languages in Massachusetts. The conference was a wonderful learning opportunity and we were amazed by the amount of people who joined our presentation and who connected with throughout.

Presentations to UNH and Success Fest Tabling

Today, our Peers presented to the occupational therapy class at the University of New Hampshire for the second year! It was a pleasure to speak to future providers and share thoughts on mental health. Our team also tabled at Success Fest, hosted at Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School in Upton.

Peer Presentations in Wayland and Framingham and Mental Health Workshop for Merrimack Police Academy

We were excited to have our very first Peer Mentor presentations at Wayland High School this week, with a couple of our new Peer Mentors shadowing for the first time as well. We were also back at Joseph Keefe Technical High School in Framingham, sharing information about what mental health care can look like after leaving high school. We also provided a training for the Merrimack Police Academy that included the suicide prevention training QPR: Question, Persuade, Refer as well as Mental Health 101.

Presentations to over 400 Students at Acton and North Reading

Over the past two days we’ve presented to 434 students at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School and North Reading High School. We also held our last session of A Time to Talk at Galvin Middle School in Wakefield. We so enjoyed talking about coping strategies, managing stress, and conflict resolution with this group!

MASCA Conference Tabling

We exhibited at the annual MASCA (MA School Counselors Association) Conference! It was great to see so many familiar faces and connect with new folks, all who are doing the important work to support students’ mental health. Thank you to MASCA and everyone who organized this conference. We look forward to being back next year!

Presentations for Swampscott High School

The past two days, we have been back at Swampscott High School presenting to students. Huge thank you to Ms. Woodfin for being such a great support to her students and to The NAN Project!

First Spanish Presentations to High Schoolers

Over the past two days, our team presented to 5 groups of students at Phoenix Charter Academy Chelsea and the Youth Elemento Access Center. At Phoenix, our team split up to present simultaneously to students in English and Spanish. We dove into conversations about mental health stigma in the Latinx community, and talked about resources for support – including the new youth access center. We are excited to continue providing this programming, making it more accessible as we extend our language capacity.
