Summer Learning Series Day 2

Summer Learning Series Day 2

Today, our team held our second day of our summer learning series! Our guest speaker; Emma Lenski M.S., LGBTQIA+ Services Coordinator from 18 Degrees Family Services; provided a presentation on LGBTQIA+ homelessness and its impact on suicidality, as well as best practices in regards to asking about and correcting one’s pronoun usage. In the afternoon, we learned about the role of therapy dogs in mental health and had the pleasure of spending an hour with Kristin, Rex, and their therapy dog, Kat, from Dog B.O.N.E.S .

This summer learning series was funded through a grant by CHNA 15, and was made possible by Determination of Need funds received from Lahey Hospital & Medical Center and Winchester Hospital We are so thankful to our guests for what we’ve learned today and look forward to the next session of our summer learning series!
